Our School

Kindergarten operates three full days per week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

There are mixed year groupings as follows: EARLY PRIMARY – Kinder/Prep (Mon-Wed), MIDDLE PRIMARY - 1/2/3 (Mon – Fri); UPPER PRIMARY – Grade 4/5/6.

Students’ needs are catered for by the staff through various grouping strategies, individual programs, and specialist support programs.

Students from Prep to Grade 6 receive specialist tuition in the Arts (one or more of Music, Drama, Visual Art) and Health & Physical Education. Kinder children will also participate in specialist classes that run on Mon, Tue or Wed.

Enrolments

Children can be enrolled in Kindergarten provided they have turned 4 by the 1st Jan. Proof of date of birth and immunisation records are necessary requirements for completion of the enrolment. Parents of Kinder enrolments and children transferring from interstate or private schools will need to complete enrolment, medical and excursion forms. This student information is transferred directly between Tasmanian government schools.

Levies

A composite levy is set by the School Association. This levy provides for stationery, books and learning materials. A component of the levy is provided for day excursions and cultural performances. The levy is calculated annually and is payable by all families at the beginning of each school year. Payment of levies should be finalised before the end of first term unless special arrangements are made with the Principal or School Business Manager.

Families eligible for Student Assistance (STAS) are not required to pay levies. STAS forms are available from the school office at the beginning of each year.
